Four seasons ago, the Grambling mens basketball team suffered through a rough 4-24 season in which they started with 11 straight losses and had a nine-losing streak heading into the final game of the season.
But they defeated Alabama A&M for the second time that season, 75-72 in Huntsville to at least end a rough year on a positive note.
However, that would be the last road win for the Tigers -- until Monday night.
Torrie Stone had 21 points while Chandler Thomas added 19 as the Grambling defeated Prairie View A&M 83-81 at Prairie View. It was Grambling's first win over Prairie View since 2007.
Grambling is only 3-19 (2-11 in the SWAC) during another rough season. But defeating a good Prairie View team (8-16, 6-6 SWAC) ends a week of positives for the Grambling mens basketball program.
The three wins so far are the most for Grambing since 2012. And one week ago, the Tigers ended a 45-game Division I losing streak with a 15-point win over the conference's fourth-best team, Alcorn State.
