Tennessee State has hit their stride after a 40-16 win over Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeast Missouri State to leap into the number one position in the Add’s HBCU Sports Report Division I – Football Championship Series Top Ten poll this week.
The Big Blue Tigers only blemish this season is a late 12-9 loss to second-ranked Bethune-Cookman in a game where star quarterback Michael German was suspended.  Since then, Tennessee State has averaged nearly 42 points a game and the most they've given up is 16 points.
The top five is South Carolina State, which defeated number four North Carolina A&T in Atlanta last week, and steady Jackson State.
In this week’s Add’s HBCU Sports Report Division II poll, Winston-Salem State continues to dominate HBCU action after routing a good Bowie State team and stay in the top spot nationally this week.
Second-ranked Tuskegee's only loss has been to Winston-Salem State and last week they held off another top ten SIAC team, Fort Valley State.  The Golden Tigers take on Morehouse Saturday in the 78th Annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic, the nation's oldest HBCU football classic.
