Tarik Cohen had his second straight 200-yard plus rushing game, this time rushing for 200 yards and becoming the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference career rushing leader, to lead North Carolina A&T to a 35-0 shutout win over Norfolk State Thursday.
Cohen's 62-yard third quarter touchdown run broke the MEAC career rushing record that had been held by William Ford who rushed for 4,672 yards for South Carolina State from 2006-2009. Cohen now has 4,701 yards with six games remaining.
North Carolina A&T (4-1, 2-0 MEAC) held Norfolk State (1-5, 0-3 MEAC) to only 137 yards of offense with NSU quarterback Greg Hankerson throwing for 111 yards and rushing for 26. The Spartans have now lost five in a row after an opening-week win over Division II Elizabeth City State.
