SIAC COACHES TAB 2012 CHAMP TUSKEGEE AS CONFERENCE'S TOP TEAM

Tuskegee, last season's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions, were chosen by the league's coaches to win it all again in 2013, the SIAC announced today during their Football Kickoff Luncheon in Atlanta.

Tuskegee, which finished 10-2 last season, won their 26th SIAC championship in 2012.  This season, the Golden Tigers return 16 starters and 13 SIAC Preseason All-SIAC picks.

The Golden Tigers were picked to finish first in the SIAC West Division while Albany State is expected to bounce back from an uncharacteristic 6-4 season to finish first in the East Division.

The rest of the conference coaches' predictions are:

WEST                                           EAST

Tuskegee                                    Albany State
Miles                                           Fort Valley State
Stillman                                      Morehouse
Kentucky State                           Benedict
Lane                                           Clark Atlanta
Central State

Miles College and Morehouse College led the Preseason All-SIAC first team pick as both schools had five players named to the first team. Miles is led by two seniors, quarterback David Thomas and running back Floyd Graves, while a couple of juniors, offensive lineman Drew Wilkins and Richard Washington, lead the Morehouse offense.  Fort Valley State's senior linebacker LeRon Furr, the 2012 SIAC Defensive Player of the Year, leads the conference's defensive stalwarts.
